Refund Policy

At LCR Car Rental (Pty) Ltd, we strive to offer premium service and full transparency throughout your rental experience. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds may be granted.


1. Deposit Refunds

  • A refundable security deposit is required for all vehicle rentals.
  • Deposits are refunded within 5 business days after the vehicle is returned, subject to:
    • No damage or excessive wear to the vehicle
    • No late returns or penalties
    • No unpaid tolls, fines, or additional charges
  • Refunds are made via the original payment method.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

A. Cancellations Made by the Renter:

  • No refunds will be issued for no-shows or same-day cancellations.
  • Any transaction fees charged by the payment processor are non-refundable.

B. Cancellations Made by LCR:

  • In the rare event that LCR Car Rental cancels a confirmed booking due to vehicle unavailability or operational issues, the Renter will receive a full refund, including any deposit paid.

3. Early Return Policy

  • No refunds will be issued for early returns, including cases where the Renter returns the vehicle before the agreed-upon end date.
  • The Renter will still be liable for the full rental amount stated in the Rental Agreement.

4. Late Returns & Penalties

  • If a vehicle is returned late without prior approval, the Renter may be charged for additional rental days and/or penalties as per the Rental Terms.
  • These amounts may be deducted from the security deposit.

  • Any costs related to damage, missing items, excessive dirt, or violation of terms will be deducted from the security deposit.
  • If damages exceed the deposit amount, the Renter will be invoiced for the difference.

6. Refund Processing Time

  • Approved refunds are processed within 5 business days from the date of return and inspection.
  • Delays may occur due to:
    • Incomplete bank/payment details
    • Public holidays or weekends
    • Ongoing investigations (e.g., accident, dispute)

7. How to Request a Refund

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to:
